While our family typically remains neutral on local issues in South Lake Tahoe, we feel that we must share our opposition to the effort for a vacancy tax on home owners.
Our family has had a home in Al Tahoe since 1952, which is cherished by our entire family for the limitless memories over four generations. Our Mother, who passed in 2022 just short of 103 years old, would be beside herself at the attack on responsible citizens who have built a happy legacy at the Lake and contribute mightily to the community.
The fact that our home is used by our family over 65% of the year does not change the fact that we feel we are a target by some in the community simply because it is easy to inflict harm upon those without a voice.
Our family appreciates the common sense actions of community members like yourself and your colleagues who are working to maintain South Lake Tahoe’s uniquely special qualities.
